Description
After picking up the guests, we will travel to Montserrat, whose name means “saw-shaped mountain”, an ancient, unique and impressive mountain range.
The massif stretches for about 10 km and reaches a height of 1,235 metres. On one of its slopes stands the famous monastery, located at 720 metres above sea level.
Inside the basilica is La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia. Visitors may also listen to the Montserrat Boys’ Choir, one of the oldest children’s choirs in Europe, and visit the museum, which exhibits works by artists such as Picasso, Caravaggio and El Greco, among others.
For those seeking adventure, a funicular railway and a cable car provide access to the most scenic areas of the mountain, offering breathtaking views.
The visit may include an audiovisual presentation about Montserrat and a small tasting of traditional local liqueurs.
Important notes:
- Free time: approx. 3.5 hours
- The boys’ choir does not sing in July
- Appropriate dress is required to enter the basilica
