Township situated at the north-est, at the border with la Selva, halfway from Girona to Barcelona, littoral area of the Tordera’s delta. Foothills of the littoral mountains. Pine trees, oak holms and brushwood.

There is still vegetable farming, at the Pla de Grau and the Pla de Pineda. The industry is very diversified (chemicals, metalurgic) and situated ind two industrial areas, the seaboard one (camí de la Pomereda) and the inner one, recenly created (can Patalina). Tourism is quite important (hotels, camping sites, apartments) specially at the sea side.

Tourists are captivald by the wide beaches and the different spaces in the township, like the Tordera delta, the farming fields, the old town, the nearby mountain, as much as for the leisure offer increased in summer.
